The role of Planning Coordinator is a multi-disciplined position. The main function is to support the mainlaying planning and operational team on a daily basis, providing effective communication with all stakeholders. You will be responsible for the whole life management and tracking of mainlaying schemes from receipt from the client to their completion.
Key Information
The Bristol Water contract is a busy hub of activity and you would need to be able perform several different tasks at once, from producing of water shut down warning letters to handling a customer complaint. You would need to be able to work closely with different team members at all levels, so your communication skills need to be strong.
As a business we use several different types of software to keep the contract running, we would prefer a working knowledge of these such as SAP although training will be provided. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel would be highly beneficial, including Microsoft Project (Programming software).
On this contract the operational 'dig' teams work on new housing developments and various developer sites installing new drinking water supplies and connection pipework for Bristol Water. We would need you to create 'job packs', ensuring the correct information is included and to Kiers quality standard. You would need to be in regular contact with the teams on site, planning the gang resource (dig teams) and liaising with the Developer / House Builder on dates for the work. In liaison with the Developer Services Agent you will pay a key part in planning the work, maintaining the programme, and liaising with Developers.
To enable our teams to work on the highway, streetworks noticing is required and your duties will include arranging streetworks notices, updating them at the start of the works, notifying progress and delays, and ensuring close out and completion of the notice, including registering of reinstatement details. Liaison with local councils streetworks teams will be required as part of the role and maintaining of notices via dedicated noticing software (EXOR).
We also have to organise to chlorinate pipelines so that the drinking water is safe for consumption, you would need to liaise with 3rd party contractors for planning and completion of the chlorination works.
