Job Title: Plumber - Hospital Maintenance

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our hospital maintenance team. This is a vital role ensuring the smooth operation of plumbing systems in a healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures and systems within the hospital, contributing to a safe and efficient facility for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of plumbing systems within the hospital.

Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and drainage problems.

Install and maintain water supply, heating, and sanitation systems in compliance with regulations.

Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and hygiene standards, following healthcare compliance requirements.

Respond promptly to emergency plumbing issues to minimize disruption to hospital operations.

Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure the efficient running of hospital facilities.

Maintain accurate records of all work completed and report any necessary upgrades or replacements.

Perform both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including non-plumbing-related jobs as required.

Requirements:

Plumbing and mechanical trade qualification.

Previous experience working in a hospital or similar environment is desirable.

Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and heating.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Awareness of health and safety regulations, particularly in a healthcare setting.

Willingness to participate in an on-call rota for emergency maintenance as required.

Monday-Friday work schedule.

Standard working hours: 07:30-15:30 if not on call, 10:00-18:30 if on call.

Be prepared to cover the 10:00-18:30 shift if required.

Ideally live within 30 minutes of the site.

Hold a valid driving licence.

Possess an in-date standard DBS (or be willing to obtain a new one).
