Heart of Wales Property Services (HoWPS) is a 50:50 joint venture partnership between Powys County Council and Kier, a leading property, residential, construction and services group. Our partnership began on 3 July 2017 and we are responsible for the repairs and maintenance work to council homes and public buildings across Powys. A consultancy service is also provided, which delivers Powys County Council's major capital investment programme, small works projects and a design and build service. Employing approximately 150 people locally we are headquartered in Llandrindod Wells, and also have teams based in Newtown and Brecon.

Kier Places & Heart of Wales Property Services are recruiting now for a Plumber to join our South-Powys Corporate Team, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management repair & servicing solution, through providing planned & reactive maintenance with a Plumbing bias in commercial properties, offices & schools managed by the council.


Key Responsibilities

As a focused and reactive Plumber, you will be attending and completing reactive works within the contract KPIs. This will involve completing quoted works of Plumbing nature - including but not limited to - taps and shower valves, bathroom fixtures, shower trays, pumps and light mechanical works. Some minor after-trade work may be required e.g., brickwork, plastering, painting & decorating, basic joinery.


What do we need from you?

The ideal Plumber will have plumbing-related qualifications & a trade background with experience in the property maintenance sector. You'll be able to diagnose faults, and ideally be Water Regulations competent with L8 Legionella awareness, and be asbestos awareness trained. As a bonus, you may have PASMA, Working At Height, and IPAF certification.

Due to the nature of this position, you should have a full UK driving licence, be happy travelling across the county to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.
