Protocol are currently partnered with a large West Midlands based college group to recruit for a full time, permanent Plumbing & Gas Assessor for an immediate start.

Our client is a centre of excellence for technical training and education, the college offers vocational courses (BTECs) for 16-19s, apprenticeships and trailblazers as well as full and part-time courses for adults including Access to Higher Education and university level study. The college specialises in construction, engineering, games, media, health, social care and early years, alongside many others. The gas and electrical engineering workshops are the envy of many commercial operations. The college also offers a range of technical and support operations programmes for the rail industry, providing the technical and employability skills to be at the cutting edge of this exciting technological and growth sector. This post has arisen due to expansion and increased student need. Offering an annual salary of between £31,439 - £36,470 per annum dependent on skills and experience. You will be required to deliver the Plumbing and Gas courses at Level 1,2 and Level 3, on-site assessment and also internal verification for the aforementioned courses, Develop resources and materials as required. scheduled class contact, student assessments and marking, preparation of learning materials and student assignments and onsite assessment. You will also be expected to undertake professional training in support of your college duties and attend team meetings

Role responsibilities
Planning and assessing on a Plumbing & Gas programme up to level 3
The person & qualifications
Possess a Plumbing/ Gas qualification,at least at Level 2 & 3

Possess an Assessor qualification

Possess or be working towards a teaching or assessing qualification is desirable

Can demonstrate proven competence within construction trades

Can demonstrate an understanding and experience of on-site assessment

Can demonstrate up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations

Have experience of working with young people

Possess GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Can work flexibly and as part of a team

Are self-motivated and have the ability to organise their own workload

Have the ability to work under pressure and handle urgent requests in an appropriate manner

Have good interpersonal and customer service skills
