We are working in partnership with Wigan & Leigh College to recruit exceptional Lecturers for their Construction Department.

We are looking for a highly motivated Plumbing Lecturer to work on a full time, permanent basis.

We are looking for candidates that have vast industry experience within the plumbing, heating and gas sector to help the college deliver outstanding teaching and learning on their plumbing courses.

The Department is growing and has current provision, from level 1 to Level 3 advanced technical qualification and Apprenticeships courses including the new standards. Candidates are expected be able to teach these levels, including Health and Safety, Hot and Cold Water, Sanitation, Central Heating, Plumbing Science and to hold a Level 3 qualification in plumbing or a related subject.

Teaching experience is desirable, but we are looking for someone with the confidence to share their experience and knowledge with students - the college would provide support for gaining a formal teaching qualification alongside your work for the right candidate.

Role responsibilities
To teach levels 1-3
To pass on your skills and industry knowledge to apprentices
To develop and deliver best practice in learning, teaching and assessment
To assist in the implementation of pastoral and welfare systems for students, including induction, recording achievements and action planning
To act as a Personal Tutor when required.

The person & qualifications
Hold a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one)
Hold a minimum level 3 qualification in Plumbing or related subject
Have previous training experience
