Role overview

This role will play an integral part in driving digital transformation and process improvement across the business. Leveraging Power Platform tools, the role will be responsible for developing automation solutions to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities. The Power Platform Specialist will collaborate with teams across Finance and the wider business to optimise workflows and support the successful implementation of digital solutions.

Additionally, this role involves maintaining the Digital Briefcase, a Power BI platform that centralises critical reports across the business for executive reporting. Key tasks include optimising data models to enhance user performance and ensuring seamless data flow, aiming to maximise report efficiency and accessibility, supporting business-wide adoption and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimise Power BI dashboards to improve visibility, accuracy, and accessibility of financial and operational insights.
  • Identify inefficiencies and develop solutions using Power Platform to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Power Platform solutions and other business applications, improving data connectivity and automation.
  • Support the maintenance of the Digital Briefcase, ensuring optimum data models and efficient data flow for enhanced reporting and user performance.
  • Mentor and support team members to strengthen their skills, confidence, and adoption of Power Platform solutions.
  • Stay informed on emerging Power Platform capabilities, evaluating their potential to enhance efficiency, scalability, and automation across the business.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across Finance and other business functions to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure solutions align with business needs.

Key Experience and Skills

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, with experience in designing and developing workflows, reports, and applications to improve business processes.
  • Proficient in data modelling, transformation, and optimisation, ensuring efficient data structures, seamless integration, and high-performance Power BI reports, including advanced use of DAX and Power Query.
  • Understanding of data integrity, compliance, and reporting accuracy, ensuring governance and best practices across automated solutions.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-change environment, managing multiple demands while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Microsoft Certifications demonstrating advanced proficiency in Power Platform solutions.
  • Experience enhancing Power Apps functionality through API integrations and seamless connectivity with business systems.
  • Familiarity with AI capabilities, such as Microsoft Copilot, to enhance automation and decision-making within business processes.
  • Experience with data tools such as SQL and Python to support advanced data processing, analysis, and automation.
  • Previous experience in the engineering / construction industry is preferred.
