Job Title: Pre-Construction Engineer

Location: Flexible to be based across our South West Water region

Business Area: Kier Utilities- South West Water

Contract/ Hours: Permanent- Full Time

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services and we are looking for a Pre-Construction Engineer to join our Utilities team on our contract with South West Water.

As Pre-construction Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of pre-construction activities for planned & major projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input into formulation of pre-construction programme as well as co-ordinate with internal and external design functions to ensure that designs are being developed in accordance with the pre-construction programme.
  • Undertake design peer reviews with civils and MEICA operational teams during design development. Feedback results to design teams.
  • Identify long lead tasks (e.g. landowner access, highways notices, specialist subcontract works, procurement) and ensure that timely actions are undertaken by the relevant stakeholder.
  • Engage with supply chain and support commercial function by providing timely information.
  • Input into the formulation and revision of the construction phase programme along with tracking progress of all pre-construction phase projects and report back to wider team and Client.
  • Be responsible for the collation and storage of all pre-construction data & detailed and timely handover of projects to civil and MEICA delivery teams.
What do we need from you?

  • Hold an understanding of MEICA and / or civils works
  • Experienced in the delivery of projects in both pre construction and construction phases.
  • Experience within a similar role, ideally within the water industry
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
