Within Kier Utilities we support UK Power Networks in 'keeping the lights on' for 8.2m customers throughout the South and the South East. As part of an Alliance, comprising UKPN, Wood Group, Morrison Utility Services and Clancy Docwra we are charged with delivering a £1bn programme in the 2016-2023 ED1 regulatory period.
As a Pre-Construction Project Manager, you will be required to successfully manage the profitable delivery of a multidisciplinary projects ensuring all design and operational aspects (site surveys, site investigations etc.) are completed on time, within planned costs, to the specifications and drawings and profitable to the agreed standard.
You will be required to effectively manage client and customer relationships, playing an integral part in the preparation and presentation to the customer of company technical and commercial benefits. You will work closely with the planning team on a daily basis to ensure successful planning of the sequence of work and establishment of key dates.
What do we need from you?
We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who have proven project management or contracting experience within the Construction and/or Power industry. You will ideally have a civils or electrical background and have experience in implementing and maintaining HSQE and Management practices and procedures. You would also have knowledge of NEC3 forms of contract especially with regards to EWN/CE process.
If you have a degree-level electrical or civil engineering qualification this is also highly desirable. You will need to have the ability to build strong relationships with the client and have excellent communication, leadership and people management skills.
It is essential that you have a driving license as this role will include travel throughout the South and East of England.
