Location: Agile home working, with site visits within the London area, with the requirement to visit the Basingstoke office once or twice a week
Business area: Kier Places - Capital Projects
Contract: Full time, permanent - 40 hour week Monday to Friday. We may be able to be flexible with hours. Please specify during the application process what hours / days work for you

We are recruiting for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our passionate Capital Projects Team. With our diverse portfolio of projects, we are looking for an individual to work on a pipeline of opportunities to help deliver decarbonisation projects, around better installation and different forms of heating, refurbishment projects, fire upgrades and some cladding replacement projects. With typical project values between £250k and £3M.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pre-Construction Manager your role will be key to managing and coordinating the pre-construction activities of either two stage or single stage opportunities. You will be expected to lead a small preconstruction team to ensure the preconstruction programme and milestones are met; design management is undertaken in a proper and timely manner; commercial proposals are developed in a timely manner; risks are identified, managed and appropriately apportioned; subcontractors and subconsultants are appointed and properly managed, whilst also managing relationships with the Client and the appointed professional team.
What do we need from you?
As a Pre-Construction Manager with demonstrable technical experience in residential Capital Projects or the Housing Maintenance sector, you will have an ability to communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders. The successful applicants will need to demonstrate an ability to plan, coordinate and manage at the preconstruction stage, whilst also demonstrating sound construction knowledge.
The Pre-Construction Manager will have experience in personnel management, resource allocation and subcontractor procurement with experience of CDM regulations and risk identification and assessment.
