Working on an 8-year framework with UKPN who own and maintain the electricity cables in South East England and London we are part of an alliance comprising Wood Group, Morrison Utility Services and Clancy Docwra.
The role of Pre-Construction Manager will see you manage the profitable delivery of a multidisciplinary project or a portfolio of projects during the pre-construction stage, ensuring that delivery is in line with the businesses expectations and to be accountable for cost, programme and risk management. The post is in support of the UK Power Networks ED1SON Alliance. The Alliance is charged with delivering a £1bn programme in the 2016-2023 ED1 regulatory period. Kier has been appointed to undertake cable and substation infrastructure projects across the Southern and Eastern Power Networks (SPN & EPN). Project values typically range from £500k to £10m. The post will be based primarily in one of the UKPN offices, with regular visits to sites during the survey, design and site investigation stage
What we need from you?
To be successful in the role you will be operationally and commercially aware with proven experience in a similar role within cabling and substation connections up to 132kv. You will have the ability to build strong client relationships with a good understanding of UKPN specifications and industry standards, particularly NEC 3 forms of contracts and Options A+C with EWN/CE process.
