The opportunity:
Kier Construction Western & Wales is looking for a Planner to join their highly successful team based in Cardiff. This is a Planner role with a difference: you will be a preconstruction planner responsible for tender bid submissions, and as such you are required to have experience in tender planning and possess bid writing skills. You will work independently to produce tender deliverables, supported by a wider team and provide an instrumental function to the success of winning bids for the business. The role will require flexibility to undertake contract planning as the business need arises.
Key responsibilities:
- Understand the constraints, logistics, any site specific requirements and clear all doubts that may rise from reading the tender documents/drawings.
- Explore requirements of Client and incorporate the same to provide a competitive edge
- Preparation of programme and method information for inclusion in submission document as per the tender deliverables requirement.
- Attend tender handover meeting, review the methodology and programme strategy and describe potential target that can be achieved, any ideas for improvement on time and cost.
- Develop the tender programme into a fully integrated Design, procurement and project programme in co-ordination with the site management team.
- Communicate programme performance, time and outcomes in a timely way with stakeholders and the Project Managers and generate and realise teams
- Holds the relevant qualifications (i.e. minimum of HNC/HND in relevant discipline)
- Proficient in the use of ASTA Powerproject and Sketch Up
- Comprehensive programme delivery experience and experience in risk identification and assessment
- Detailed knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining a works programme
