A great opportunity has arisen for a Principal Bridge Engineer to join our Highways team in Birmingham to undertake services within an engineering environment which may include (but are not limited to); scheme investigation, site and structure inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, preparation of tender documents, works/construction inspection and supervision to progress scheme design, development and construction. Location: Birmingham - remote working available, with travel to the office

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: £48k - £52k

Responsibilities

The Principal Engineer will manage and be responsible for the delivery of technical outputs of projects or a project portfolio to the meet the client's brief within time and budget. To line manage more junior members of staff.

Your day to day will include:
  • Carrying out the checking and certifying of design deliverables (including drawings specifications, professional skill and care certificates, reports and contract documents)
  • Authorising where appropriate
  • Managing a team.
Who are we looking for?

This role of Principal Bridge Engineer is great for you if have:
  • Chartered / incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (MICE/MIStructE or equivalent)
  • In-depth experience in inspection, assessment, design and construction of highway structures to UK standards
  • Valid driving licence
