Principal Designer Job in South East London
Principal Designer job in South East London for an award-winning architectural firm. Working across heritage and conservation projects. Offering a salary of up to £55,000 + Bonus + hybrid working + 25 days holiday.
Our client was founded in the 1940s and has grown to over 280 people, across 11 UK offices and has won awards for Architect Employer of the Year! During this time, they have established themselves as an industry leader in planning advice, heritage consultancy, building surveying, conservation, and contemporary architecture. Working with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers, and individuals, this practice has been involved in the care and development of some of the best-loved buildings and places in the UK and abroad. The practice provides sensitive restoration and repair schemes and modern design in historic contexts. Their bold and contemporary designs are spread across a variety of sectors including cultural, master planning, education, ecclesiastical, public, hospitality, residential, and many more.
Role & Responsibilities
- Advise on specific health & safety matters
- Assist and support the head of CDM
- Provide support and advice to in-house design teams
- Review projects and designs and support with preconstruction health & safety matters
- Support the client to provide preconstruction information
- coordinate all health & safety matters during preconstruction
- Issue the health & safety document on completion
- Develop guidance materials and management tools
- Give training to in-house design disciplines
- Carry our research on good practices
- Liaise with enforcing authorities
- Critically appraise design risk assessments.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 years' experience
- NEBOSH or equivalent
- Architectural Degree is preferred
- Knowledge AutoCAD
- Driving Licence
- Own car.
