Job Title: Principal Mechanical Business Services Design Engineer
Location: Maple Cross, London - This is an agile role where you will be predominantly based out of our Maple Cross Office, with partial home working available and will require occasional travel to Client offices and project sites.

Contract: Permanent, full time.

Part of the Kier Group, KDaBS is an autonomous multi-D consultancy (ranked an impressive 54th Building Magazine's Top 150 Consultants 2021 table) providing services to both our established base of external clients and a growing internal Kier Construction pipeline (where we compete with other consultancies to secure design commissions).

Increasing demand for KDaBS services across London and the South East requires a stronger local MEP presence. In response, we are establishing a new Building Services design hub in our London Maple Cross office, and are seeking and are seeking to recruit senior individuals who can be the key building blocks for a rapidly expanding team.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant for this role will be a Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE, with an HND/Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering plus significant experience demonstrating appropriate ability to fulfil the accountabilities of the role.
Reporting to the South East Services Engineering Team leader, and able to work to tight timescales and budgets without supervision, you will be technically competent to develop Mechanical building services engineering design solutions, providing coordinated solutions for major new builds, refurbishments and minor works, and have the personal leadership qualities to grow and direct an Mechanical design team.
This role requires a high level of knowledge and experience in your discipline allied to demonstrable understanding of current industry standards, Building Regulations, Health and Safety, and CDM regulations. Proven experience with use of industry standard design software including Cymap, NBS, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office is desirable.
What do we need from you?
It is essentail you have a HND/Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering plus significant experience demonstrating appropriate ability to fulfil the accountabilities of the role. To also have high level of computer literacy including competency in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, TAS, Cymap, Hevacomp and NBS software.
It is desirable to have experience of directing Mechanical Design Engineers and coordinating M&E design delivery as well as being able to manage clients; determining, understanding and managing their expectations. You will be organisaed and have a analytic approach to problem is solving.
