Kier Professional Services (KPS) are an exclusive in-house resource, providing readily available expert advice to support understanding and resolution of technical project issues in temporary and permanent works. KPS are able to quickly mobilise resources to support project delivery and consistently deliver a dependable design service for buildability and safety.
We are Kier, one of the UK's leading Construction and Infrastructure services, working on projects such as Hinkley Point C and Mogden Sewage Treatment Works. We are now recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Kier Professional Services team in Manchester to lead the MEICA engineering design projects.
Key Responsibilities
In this exciting role, you'll organise the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff and lead the overall mechanical design for industrial and process clients, dealing with process control systems such as water and waste treatment systems. You'll prepare mechanical design requirements and provide tender design and bid winning support for mechanical design incl. feasibility studies, outline design, production, and evaluation of concepts. You'll also lead the development of fee proposals, identifying technical risks and solutions to facilitate scoping, pricing, design, and construction.
What do we need from you?
Ideally, you'll be a fully Chartered Engineer and have Membership from an appropriate professional body (IET or ImechE). You'll also have extensive experience within the wastewater or process related industries and detailed knowledge of SHE requirements. A proven track record of delivering design projects and you'll be able to have a good understanding of the financial constraints, programming, and buildability of projects.
