Development Planning - Principal Transport Planner - Derby
We're looking to appoint a Principal Transport Planner to the lively head office of one of the industries fastest growing engineering consultancies, in Derby. You will be part of a small but rapidly growing team, with excellent internal progression opportunities!
Time will fly in this role as you work in a multi-disciplinary environment on exciting projects across a range of sectors, collaborating with other professional bodies in the Local Planning/Highway Authorities, Highways England and other professionals such as Planning Consultants, Architects, Air Quality/Noise Consultants, M&E Engineers and more.
The team work on an exciting range of private sector projects that differ in size and type. This ranges from new urban extensions, large scale city centre regeneration schemes, Residential Travel Plan Coordinator Roles, commercial/industrial developments adjacent to the strategic road network, small landowners, office developments, industrial estates, district centres, leisure uses, medical centres and more!
Reporting into the Associate Director, you will have the opportunity to lead your own projects, as well as help to develop and mentor junior professionals.
Principal Transport Planner - Requirements:
- Working towards Chartered Professional status (e.g. CEng, TPP or CMILT);
- Skilled in the production of key development planning deliverables (including Transport Assessments/Statements, Travel Plans, Environmental Statement Transport Chapters, preliminary access/junction improvement designs);
- Skilled in the use of transport modelling software (Junctions 9, LinSig, TRICS, TEMPro/NTEM etc), AutoCAD & vehicle tracking software.
- Knowledge of national/local design standards.
