We have a fantastic opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our Access team in Peterborough!
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will assemble and install manufactured ramp and step components to agreed design specification and tolerance. This includes the safe handling, moving, installing, and finishing to specification and within deadlines.
You will refurbish and fit out the Access ramps and steps to the highest possible standards.
Flexibility is required in this role due to the workload of projects and rectifications which are based on and off site.
Your working pattern will be 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 07:45 to 16:30 and finishing early on Friday at 15:30 (inclusive of lunch breaks).
Role Details
- Starting Salary: £30,115 / £14.85 p/h
- Opportunity to earn additional hourly rate between £507 - £8,882 / £0.25 p/h to £4.38 p/h, based on skill set and behaviours.
- Role based: Peterborough, PE7 8JA
- Contract type: Permanent
- Annual leave: 24 annual leave plus bank holidays
Role Responsibilities
Undertake the installation & erection of Access products to agreed standards in the most efficient manner.
Undertake the dismantling & recovery of Access products to agreed standards in the most efficient manner.
Liaise with stores to ensure correct materials are present for task in hand.
Notify management / supervisor of any damaged or faulty Access product materials so appropriate action can be undertaken , ie return / segregation.
Undertake the preparation / decoration of Access product surfaces as & when required.
Assist the safe movement of vehicles both on and off site.
Be thorough in the separation and segregation of waste to meet environmental requirements.
Develop sound customer relationships through effective communication to provide excellent levels of customer service.
Work effectively as part of a team with all internal customers to ensure timescales for completing work are achieved and quality standards reached.
Ensure compliance with all legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and/or Company Procedures/Policies relating to Health and Safety, inclusive of COSHH
Ensure already used fittings and materials are utilised as a priority without compromising quality.
Achieve objectives/targets relevant to role.
Individual responsibility for ensuring workmanship quality adheres to in house standards as defined by management.
Ensure that timesheets and service requests are fully and accurately completed in a timely manner, as stipulated by management.
On occasions, there will be a need for you to work away from home for short periods.
In addition to the above employees are required to carry out any reasonable request to perform other duties as may be required.

* Experience gained within construction/related industry
* Basic DYI skills
* Full UK Driving License
