SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

The Process/Project Engineer is responsible for development and upkeep of all technical processes in the plant. They are expert in glass processing and are capable to troubleshoot and improve processes to maximise yield. They will be familiar with the latest processing technology and will be innovative in their approach. Capable to plan, source and deliver turnkey solutions to match the business strategic goals within budget and project timelines.
They will display a LEAN approach in all their undertakings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and improve all technical production processes and systems.
  • Evaluate and trouble shoot low yield processes.
  • Plan, source and deliver turnkey solutions as required to the production team.
  • Manage plant installations with the wider team from cradle to grave in a structured manner ensuring no negative impact to daily production activities.
  • Keep up to date with all latest industry solutions.
  • Be innovative in approach to ensure the business is at the fore of glass processing companies.
  • Have a strong understanding of software solutions and be able to implement same to improve and maximise plant efficiencies through data driven decision making, product traceability, stock control etc.
  • Deputise for plant production engineers and production controller in times of absence.
  • Support day in day out delivery of all production and plant targets.
  • Use generated data to make informed decisions, target areas for improvement and eliminate waste.
  • Drive LEAN and CI projects and culture throughout the plant.
  • As part of handover deliver ISO procedures and Work Instructions for all processes and conduct in-house training and competency checks for all relevant plant staff.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for all processes, software and key pieces of equipment for our technical operatives and wider plant team and evaluate competency to ensure that plant resources are competent and capable to maximise plant yields and efficiencies.
  • Support the management team in the identification of individuals to train and develop for succession planning in technical roles.
  • Work with Quality and HSE engineers to ensure the plant and all its processes are compliant to our industry standards.
  • Manage the implementation of new standards/accreditations.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Work with maintenance department to create effective PM tasks and schedules that keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Lead by example and create a strong teamwork culture in the plant based on positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Show commercial awareness in all your duties and deliverables.
  • Ensure processes and resources are capable to deliver the plant KPI's.
  • Display flexibility in your approach to find the optimal solution for the good of the company.
  • Think outside the box to provide management with solutions not questions.
  • Use structured problem-solving techniques to establish root cause and develop solutions.
  • Promote a Quality and Health & Safety driven culture throughout the plant through the development and implementation of robust processes and systems in line with ISO 9001 & ISO 45001.



EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • BS degree in Industrial/Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience in a GMP or process driven manufacturing industry.
  • At least 10 years' relevant experience in the glass processing industry.
  • Experience in Middle east or Gulf Region preferred.
  • Strong sense of commercial awareness and project targets.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suite & MS Project.
  • Strong working knowledge of Production Management/ERP software.
