We're looking for a Procurement Lead to join our Strategic Projects team based in Glasgow. Within this role, you can enjoy exposure to large scale projects, progression opportunities, support in obtaining further qualifications and even more.

Location: HMP Glasgow, Scotland

Contract: Full time, permanent (Monday to Friday) - able to consider part time working

Kier have been awarded a PCSA contract to develop the design for HMP Glasgow, which is a replacement for the existing adult male establishment at HMP Barlinnie. The project will deliver a new, modern prison that provides secure custody, safe and ordered prison regimes, high standards of decency and care, alongside opportunities for prisoners to develop in a way that helps them reintegrate on return to society on their release.?

The new prison is to accommodate spaces for 1,200 persons along with associated support facilities and regimes with an emphasis on rehabilitation through a focus on health and wellbeing. In developing the design we will explore options for delivering net zero carbon and embrace smart building technologies and automated processes to support the operation of the new facility.


Responsibilities

Your day to day will include:

  • Managing the procurement process upstream and ensuring client / PM are fully informed

  • Managing the contributions from all departments relevant to the tendering and procurement process

  • Managing the procurement process and documenting progress and programme revisions

  • Preparing and agreeing project specific pricing document (including priced preliminaries) and ensuring these are used in all subcontract enquiries
