Production Operative (Material Handler)
Breedon are currently seeking a Production Operative carrying out Materials Handling duties operating on a 4x2 shift basis at Hope Cement Works working within the shift teams in the cement manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise closely with the Work's shift team to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of raw materials to the cement manufacturing process.
- Stockpile daily deliveries (road and rail) in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Actively engage in on-site projects to further improve the running of the cement works and manufacturing process.
- Inspect and carry out day to day upkeep of mobile plant to a high standard to allow for safe and reliable operation.
Skills / Knowledge required:
- A qualified and competent operator of wheeled loading shovels (CAT 972K sized) as well as tracked 360 excavators (13+ tonnes) in a busy and dynamic site environment.
- Experience of working safely with and on stock heaps including 'live' stockpiles and with various materials including coal, gypsum, and shale.
- An ability to work well within a small and busy team as well as being self-driven to deliver as an individual.
- Thorough knowledge of the operation plant associated with the loading of cement wagons and unloading PFA / Coal.
