Project Coordinator (Compliance &Health & Safety)

Daniel Owen is looking for a Project Coordinator who is committed to delivering excellence in project coordination while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance. We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join an established Construction company, ensuring their projects run smoothly and in full compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring safe, efficient project delivery.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week. 3 days in the office, 2 days onsite

Availability: This role is immediately available

Role Overview:

As a Project Coordinator, you will oversee project coordination across multiple teams while ensuring adherence to compliance frameworks and health & safety protocols. Your responsibilities will include preparing documentation, managing safety standards, and ensuring all internal and external requirements are met. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, safely, and in line with legal and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met within compliance frameworks.
  • Prepare site files, including printed copies of construction drawings and site signage as required.
  • Champion and manage the functionality of the Breadcrumb software.
  • Chase subcontractors for RAMs (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), ensuring they meet safety requirements before site distribution.
  • Ensure site equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers) is up-to-date and serviced.
  • Follow up with subcontractors to obtain O&M (Operation and Maintenance) information for timely project handover.

Compliance & Health & Safety:

  • Stay updated with current Health & Safety legislation, integrating this into company procedures.
  • Manage internal Health & Safety and site documentation.
  • Ensure subcontractor's and supplier's insurance is up to date and meets company requirements before orders are raised.
  • Renew and maintain essential accreditation's (e.g., CHAS, Safe Contractor).
  • Compose and create Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans (CPHSP) for all projects.
  • Keep all subcontractor and supplier documentation current and updated on the Swift system.
  • Ensure ISO standards are maintained within the delivery department, supporting the QMS Manager in preserving ISO accreditation.
  • Complete O&M packs and Health & Safety files for project handovers.
  • Vet subcontractor's Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and add approved suppliers to the Swift system.
  • Apply for F10 notifications as required.
  • Arrange for external audits of sites on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all Rhino documentation is correctly numbered and updated in line with internal documentation systems (part of the ISO framework).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in project coordination or a related role, ideally within construction, compliance, or health & safety sectors.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, health & safety legislation, and ISO standards.
  • Familiarity with managing safety protocols, risk assessments, and subcontractor documentation.
  • Experience working with project management software and maintaining detailed documentation systems.
