Project Manager - Cladding Projects

Location: London, surrounding areas, and South East England

Business Area: Kier Places - Capital Projects

Contract: Permanent, full time, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday - We may be able to be flexible with hours. Please specify during the application process what hours / days work for you.

Kier Places are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join our passionate Capital Projects Team. With our diverse portfolio of projects, we are looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, and securing work, whilst also being able to work as part of a closely knit team that has the opportunity to develop and control its own destiny. We understand this approach is essential to ensure we consistently win work and secure repeat business.

You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominantly involving the recladding of high-rise buildings, in which, by their nature, are safety critical works and involve significant fire and general safety risk, with typical project values between £2M and £10M, and of a construction nature. You will be joining a growing team specialising in this new workstream which has good long-term growth opportunity, in which successful applicants will have the opportunity to grow and develop as this new workstream evolves.

Key Responsibilities

As a focused Project Manager, we will look to you to take operational responsibility of projects from the pre-construction stage through to contract award, delivery and to final account stage.

The Project Manager will be responsible for quality management and compliance, customer service, stakeholder management, cash management and commercial performance in line with our Performance Excellence approach. Performance Excellence is all about ensuring we are always working to be better and is at the heart of our business stratergy, underpinned by our values collaborative, trusted and focused.

You'll also be expected to be involved with client site progress meetings with property team and the project interested parties (safety consultants, designers, local authority, or property tenants), as well as conducting weekly labour and production review meetings, reporting to the board, and preparing senior management reports for weekly client SMT updates. You'll manage a team of site managers and work closely alongside the planning and design management functions.

Working collaboratively with the assigned Quantity Surveyors, you'll be monitoring the project lifecycle cost, engaging with the buyer to achieve cost effective materials and sub-contract teams, and ensuring any additional works requested are costed & submitted for approval by the QS before being undertaken onsite.

What do we need from you?

The ideal Project Manager candidate will have a strong background relating to Cladding, Housing Maintenance, Capital Projects/Works, Residential Buildings, Property Construction, or Minor Works.
