Project Manager Job in East London

Project Manager job in East London. Are you an experienced Project Manager or Surveyor with workplace refurbishment experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a growing commercial developer. You will be joining a passionate Hackney-based team in successfully developing their portfolio of commercial, coworking business spaces, purely for the creative sector. The role offers a salary of up to £65,000 + Bonus + Travel + Agile working.

Established in 2009, they create spaces that encourage collaboration for creative industries across London and Devon. They have several exciting acquisitions and developments for 2022 and they now need an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of commercial refurbishment projects from post-acquisition to completion and handover to operations.

The role will be coordinating the development of a diverse range of exciting new sites, from new build to heritage properties, taking responsibility for all aspects of development including programming, financial control, planning, procurement, negotiation of contracts, building regulations and quality control. Ideally, they are looking for a Chartered MRICS candidate with excellent project management experience. Commercial, workplace, office refurbishment project experience is essential.

Role & Responsibilities

- Deliver a strategy for development

- Oversee design, planning and construction phases from inception to completion

- Manage the development department budget

- Prepare and maintain project schedules, ensuring delivery deadlines are met and critical path items prioritised

- Schedule project meetings carefully, ensuring the appropriate stakeholders and contributors are brought together at optimal times

- Lead monthly development meetings, delivering up-to-date project and budget reports and setting efficient agendas to include all critical issues to be resolved

- Deliver the requisite planning and landlord consents through liaison with the relevant stakeholders and management of the team

- Devise strategies and negotiate contracts and supplier relationships to achieve best value across all construction projects

- Oversee procurement to ensure the best possible materials are chosen and the best value is obtained

- Ensure sites are compliant with all relevant H&S, fire and regulatory requirements at all times

- Manage our in-house architect, external professionals and contractors, assuming full responsibility for their work in terms of regulations, compliance and quality

- Oversee the evolution of our design strategy and its implementation

- Handover new developments to the operations team with all regulatory and compliance requirements complete.

Required Skills & Experience

- MRICS preferred

- 4+ years project management experience

- Must have workplace, office, commercial refurbishment experience, commercial new build would also be advantageous

- Project management experience from post-acquisition to handover

- Experience in programme management across multiple projects

- Experience in managing project costs / budgets

- Experience in procurement

- Experience in contract negotiation

- Ability to travel to Devon once or twice a month for site visits / meetings.
