Location: Based within the Southwest - regular travel will be required and expected to support business needs. This could include travelling further afield and occasional overnight stays.

Kier Places provides Facilities management and project delivery across the MOJ and Home Office estate within the south of the UK. The estate equates to over 400 buildings of varying age and condition.

We work closely with our clients and supply chain to ensure properties remain compliant, safe, operational and suitable for our client's needs. Kier Places are recruiting now for a Project manager reporting into the Head of projects. The main aim of this role is taking responsibility of the SW portfolio of projects from conception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Working within the MOJ and Home Office account our works can vary from large commercial premises, approved premises, and offices. With over 400 buildings across the portfolio the types of projects can significantly vary.

We are looking for a proactive projects manager ideally with experience in the government sector. The role will be client facing capturing all project updates and ensuring communication is undertaken throughout the duration of all projects.

The role will include detailed scoping visits, safe project execution, ownership of all updates via weekly calls / site meetings with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will support the management of the p&l to include accurate programmes, project variations, validations and project sign off whilst adhering to Kier policy and procedures.

When validating works site attendance will be required to inspect progress, health and safety is in place and adherence to the scope of works. We pride ourselves in engagement, accuracy, safety and completion of works inline with programme / cost. Our reputation is built on our relationships and this role is key to Kier for future recognition and securing future works.

As the contract covers the south of the UK and occasional delivery in the midlands / north, with over 400 buildings there may be a requirement for occasional working away from home to support the business's needs and that of our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for their own productivity and safe execution of works whilst ensuring projects are completed inline with anticipated margins.

The role will include client liaison to ensure operational requirements are met and clients are happy with the completed project. Weekly updates and escalation issues are to be owned and managed.

We are a fast-paced projects team delivering small works from £10k all the way up to £1.5m refurbishment schemes. Each project manager has multiple projects to manage / deliver whilst also having many that require scoping and tendering.

We pride ourselves on good customer relationships and snag free handovers with excellent communication throughout the life of the project.

What do we need from you?

Previous experience in project delivery within a similar sector. Relevant training and experience in project delivery such as prince 2 , Nebosh , SMSTS , M&E training , PAP , CAPM , APM , PAQ
