What is Crown House Technologies?
Crown House Technologies (CHtM) is Laing O'Rourke's internal off-site manufacturing business unit, managing all the works of steelwork fabrications, pipework fabrications, mechanical and electrical services modules and volumetric products for the wider business. The project co-ordination team are responsible for project management through The Crown House Technologies facility, involving technical review of models supporting the DfMA team, working to a programme to issue drawings to production and ensuring timely delivery of materials to suit production requirements.
The Opportunity:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer, with previous water or sewage experience for our STW project in Beckton, East London, who can lead the coordination and technical reviews of main design packages from the main designer and sub-contractors from designated project areas.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Are you looking for a Mechanical Engineer role? Do you have experience in the water industry and or site wide MEICA infrastructure in another industry. Have you got a background in managing mechanical packages of work with sub-contractors? If so, can you be the right candidate for this role?
Key duties include:
- To lead the coordination and technical reviews of main design packages from the main designer and sub-contractors from designated project areas
- Interface with other engineering disciplines and work closely with MEICA Project Manager and Technical Leads
- Challenge main designer specifications to comply to minimum contractual specifications
- In depth understanding and interpretation of specifications when dealing with the client, main designer and sub-contractors
- Be commercially aware
- Contribute into/ Lead contractor's proposals
- Input into Procurement Activities e.g. reviewing scope of works, attending to tender technical clarifications
- Site attendance is required at Beckton STW. Hybrid working will be considered, but it is expected that the selected candidate will be based mostly on site with the project transitioning from design to installation and commissioning in 2023.
