We at Laing O'Rourke have a requirement for Project Planner to join one of our specialist data Centre projects based in East London. This is a site-based role, The first phase of fit out works are currently progressing on site, with the second phase due to commence during Q2 2023, with completion due in Q4 2024.
Are you an experienced Strategic Project Planner will have a background in Civil Engineering with Data Centre and M&E service experience? Then this is the next opportunity for you.
You as a Project planner will be responsible for the programming, planning, production controls, reporting, feedback and any mitigation measures for the second phase of the Data centre fit out works.
Laing O'Rourke Project Planner are responsible of Pre-contract planning and work control proficient in Using Primervera P6 and Powerproject software.
A key element to the role will be establishing and implementing robust project controls and accurate reporting and developing relationship with client representatives.
What will the role look like?
- Provide leadership for the planning and coordination processes.
- To implement and maintain the requirements of the Project Business Plan.
- Ensure that the construction strategy and any recommended improvements are communicated.
- Develop, maintain and update Contract Programme and Programme to Build in accordance with the project requirements
- Provide strategic programmes - tender, procurement, design, construction, short term.
- Co -ordinate with internal customers - commercial, design, customer care and construction
- Commercial advice / implications on production / programme issues
- Able to give advice on production issues with understanding of the commercial issues and implications
- Liaise with site team to check on progress, issues and review planned progress to ensure
- Project / programme controls
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Professional Qualifications: HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
- On site Project experience.
- Good understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications along with understanding of risk and opportunity management.
- Have a developing knowledge of strategic planning and project / programme management systems.
- Planning and resourcing experience using Asta Powerproject.
- Self motivation, resource management, staff development and coaching.
- Navisworks or 4D planning (Synchro)
