Are you passionate about creating schedules that define project scope, or estimating work schedules and costs for project delivery? Do you have experience working with project managers to coordinate tasks and track progress? If so, Laing O'Rourke's Expanded team is seeking a Senior Project Planner to join their specialist projects in West London.
Laing O'Rourke's Expanded, which specialises in concrete frames and substructures, is currently working on the construction of the main station box at HS2's Old Oak Common. The new Old Oak Common station is set to become the UK's largest and best-connected railway station, serving as a vital transport hub. The construction of the 850m-long reinforced concrete station box will serve as the frame and base for the HS2 station building.
Do you have previous experience in heavy civils, Rail and substructures as well as superstructure projects?
What will the role look like?
- To implement and maintain the requirements of the Project Business Plan.
- Ensure that all programmes are compliant with the Project requirements.
- Ensure that the construction strategy and any recommended improvements are communicated.
- Represent the project / business with all stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain and update Contract Programme and Programme to Build in accordance with the project requirements
- Provide strategic programmes - tender, procurement, design, construction, short term.
- Co -ordinate with internal customers - commercial, design, customer care and construction
- Commercial advice/implications on production/programme issues
- Able to give advice on production issues with an understanding of the commercial issues and implications
- Liaise with site team to check on progress, and issues and review planned progress to ensure
- Strategic Planning
- Project/programme controls
- Contract planning
- Pre-contract planning and work control
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Professional Qualifications: HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
- On site Project experience.
- Good understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications along with understanding of risk and opportunity management.
- Gained experience of developing relationships with client representatives.
- Have a developing knowledge of strategic planning and project / programme management systems.
- Planning and resourcing experience using Asta Powerproject.
- Self motivation, resource management, staff development and coaching.
- Primavera P6
- Navisworks or 4D planning (Synchro)
- MS Office applications
