Key Responsibilities: The role will encompass the following but not limited to:
- Apply project action plans to risk and opportunity as well as being fully attuned to all levels of value engineering, including programme, buildability and the promotion of Kier Major Projects
- Highly approachable in managing and motivating the project procurement team and sets the standards on site
- Create, enforce and manage the project procurement schedule and provide reporting information to planning & commercial
- Adopt project problems providing solutions and strategic guidance
- Manage all aspects of procurement on site. Ensure adherence to KGC035 and Major Projects Business Management System for Procurement.
- Ensure proper procurement process followed and Subcontract order documents are produced to a high standard
- Participating in a process of Supply Chain Management that embraces the need for change and continuous improvement
- Establish and monitor systems of reviewing tender and subcontract documents and apply a project view on application of the contract.
- Ensure that there are adequate systems in place for record keeping, correspondence, distribution and response as well as general document control.
- Ensure appropriate reporting controls are implemented to suit main/sub contract as well as develop teams to improve performance.
- Take an active role in reviewing company systems with a particular emphasis on those that affect the performance of the procurement department or project.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of company procedures and systems in order to provide audits and an advice service.
- Overview, summarise and communicate contract deliverables to the team.
- Ensure appropriate reporting controls are implemented to suit main/sub contract as well as develop teams to improve performance.
- Support individual learning and development opportunities
- Facilitate communication within the team.
- Ensure that regular procurement & commercial meetings are held.

Essential
- Computer literate

- Excellent organisation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible attitude to travel
- Extensive sub-contract and materials experience
Desirable
- Experience of Oracle
- Large scale construction experience
- NEC, JCT and GC/Works experience
