Our client are at the forefront of modular building manufacture, establishing new factories to produce high quality housing. Well funded, and run by some of the UK's leading experts this is an exceptional opportunity to help take offsite manufacturing forward to new levels. Health and safety are critical in moving from building processes to manufactured processes, and quality management is essential with this too.

Main Purpose of role

To effectively support the management and quality of the manufacture of their products to form modular buildings which include: -

  • Walls Panels
  • Floors and Roofs
  • Windows
  • Carcassing
  • Kitchen
  • Bathrooms
  • Skirtings
  • Architraves
  • External Cladding


Principal accountabilities:

  • Work at all times to a high level of accuracy, providing consistent quality and finishes
  • Ensure operatives accurately work from and interpret detailed drawings
  • Ensure paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure that all relevant fixing and connection details are carried out and enforced to the required issued details
  • Assist the Production staff to carry out set tasks and projects to TopHat specifications, tolerance and drawings
  • Maintain and improve production efficiencies, thus driving continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the operation of the workshop to meet agreed budgetary constraints and requirements
  • Assist the Production staff to carry out set tasks and projects within agreed timescales
  • To enforce a high level of housekeeping in all production areas
  • Assist with improving design and process models
  • Minimise raw material wastage and wherever possible recycle manufacturing waste for alternative use within the operation
  • Comply with and ensure operatives comply with Health and Safety responsibilities in line with the company Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
  • Ensure operatives comply with all other policy and legal requirements in relation to role
  • Maintain employee and organisational confidentiality in line with Data Protection Act & GDPR
  • Demonstrate commitment to Equality and Diversity
  • Assist in the implementation of various certifications including ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 & BOPAS
  • Ensure that the finished product is loaded and ready for delivery to the required quality and standards
  • Any other duties required to fulfil the role.


Skills & Experience

  • GCSE Maths and English or Equivalent
  • IOSH Managing Safety & Auditor training ISO9001,14001 and OSHAS 18001 desirable

Professional Qualification

  • Engineering/ Manufacturing qualification at Level 4 (HNC) or above is essential


Technical experience required

  • Experience in Quality Control Processes and Procedures
  • Ability to complete relevant paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Manual Handling
  • COSHH Awareness
  • Ability to follow technical specifications
  • Experience of auditing to various quality and H&S standards
