The successful Quality Manager will be responsible for managing and controlling the QC function throughout the business. You will also be responsible for implementing processes and procedures that will ensure success in maintaining a high level of quality performance and a companywide understanding of what quality requirements are necessary to achieve success from the top level and across all departments of the company

Our client employs over 100 people providing a range of services which encompasses everything from design assistance, assembly and testing of finished products.

Job Description

The successful Quality Manager is to manage the quality process by ensuring that production quality is defined and maintained by implementing a robust quality control process that is continually monitored, leading to an overall increase in product quality. You will be responsible for identifying areas for improvement within the department and review customer requirements to make sure they are met. You will define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff to ensure a uniform approach by all.

Key Accountabilities

    To review all products as part of the design process for potential quality issues

    Responsible for DFMEA, control plans and process flow charts etc

    Working with project leaders to discuss solutions to quality issues

    Reporting on design, pre-production and production to check on the quality status of the product at all stages of production.

    Comply with ISO accreditation requirements

    Investigate causes of quality problems and propose solutions

    To carry out staff appraisals and training for employees under your direct management

    Control all measuring equipment and ensure continued adherence to standards through regular calibration as required by the quality system

    PPAP's and ISIR's for customers as required

The Candidate

The successful Quality Manager will have the following skills and attributes:

    Significant experience with quality engineering within a manufacturing environment

    Proven managerial experience in a quality role

    The ability to utilise common quality tools and techniques such as 8D, PPAP and statistical process control

    The ability to facilitate change

    The ability to lead and motivate a team

    Experience of ensuring compliance with quality, health & safety and environmental requirements

    The ability to read engineering drawings

    Competent in the use of metrology equipment
