Our client is looking for a skilled Contracts Manager from the lift and escalator industry. Or an experienced Quantity Surveyor from the construction industry.

This is a great opportunity in the lift industry for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work from the office located in North West. A very commutable location for an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Project Coordinator with a construction industry experience looking to take the next step up in their career.

1. Purpose - Quantity Surveyor

The Project Quantity Surveyor is responsible for proactively preventing and actively resolving contractual concerns in contracts between company and customer and in contracts with subcontractors/suppliers. The emphasis is on actions that minimise legal and commercial risk proactively. The role is involved all the way from tender phase (supporting sales team) to project execution and close out (supporting project team). The role may be located direct to the project OR part of the local front-line unit.

2. Responsibilities - Quantity Surveyor

Ensures that the Sub-Contracts are made in line with contract guidelines and policies

Supports Project Manager and team in preparing a Project Execution Plan and maintaining appropriate control processes defined therein.

Fully understands the scope and terms of the main contract as well as sub-contracts, including both obligations to customer and subcontractor's obligations to client.

Monitors compliance with the contractual obligations throughout the contract Term.

Monitors potential claims, including the following actions: - Quantity Surveyor

Reporting of matters that are potentially harmful to the company Keeping up-to-date records of these matters, e.g. variations to scope of works, events that entitle to an extension of time under the contract.

Ensures all payments are made on time and ensuring all notifications to third parties are made on time.

Monitors the cost control and client change control processes.

Maintains project forecast costs, revenue and profitability using SAP and business reporting tools.

Monthly Reporting: - Quantity Surveyor

Liability statement (gross liability in respect of each subcontractor)

Cost/Value reconciliation (contract value measured against contract cost)

Leads and co-ordinates project final account discussions with the customer.

Resolves or assists Legal in resolving any contract disputes between our company and the

customer and/or subcontractors.

Follows changes in laws and regulations and advises on how they impact the project.

Entry-level requirements - Quantity Surveyor

At least two years of pre- or postgraduate professional experience with a multinational

corporation or a reputable firm working as a QS

Appropriate level legal degree or QS qualifications

Fluent English with fluency in additional languages being an advantage

Construction Industry experience required and beneficial

Desire to participate as a full-member of the project leadership team
