Are you looking to join a leading utilities company working in an Alliance with Anglian Water, Barhale and Morrison's. If so, we have an excellent opportunity for a customer- centric, Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our commercial team throughout the region.

To work locally under a central Partner Commercial Lead as part of the Commercial Team overseen by the Commercial Manager assisting with the control of costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard of quality and safety. Work within the project teams liaising with the Partner Commercial Lead, Project Engineers, Procurement Coordinators, Schedulers, Planners, Site Team Leaders and Site Managers. Assist in improving cost efficiency and creating an environment of outperformance. Role will require the QS to manage, coach and mentor QS Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the project team in all commercial matters
  • Liaise with the site teams and take the lead with contract administration, including record keeping.
  • Ensure timely submission of valuations
  • Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time
  • Ensure the accurate and timely evaluation and agreement of final quantities, revised and additional items, rates and compensation events
  • Identify additional entitlement under the contract including the monitoring of daily records
  • Assist with the internal valuations/VCR/End Life Forecasts.
  • Monitoring, Recording and Presentation of relevant Cost Data
  • Work to facilitate payments to Subcontractors and from Client

    • Skills and experience required:
    • Qualified or working towards a HND/HNC or similar in Quantity Surveying
    • Knowledge and experience preparing final accounts to specific deadlines
    • Knowledge and experience preparing for audits
    • Ability to appropriately delegate tasks to assistant
    • Experience in line management and ability to coach/mentor and develop QS Assistant
    • Knowledge and experience in commercial reporting
    • Knowledge and experience of cash flow forecasts
    • Knowledge and experience of Subcontractor account management
    • Knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis
    • Proven ability in interpreting and collating financial Data and using spreadsheets
    • Knowledge and experience of Driving Outperformance
    • Good communicator able to communicate detailed data to a non-data literate audience
