We are currently seeking a self-motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Breedon on the Hill, near Derby. This will be on a temporary basis (4-6 weeks). Working within a fast-paced contracting business, you will be responsible for a number of commercial functions and will work closely with our operational teams to deliver projects which succeed in terms of quality, safety and commercial aspects.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:-
- Commercial reporting - including cost and value reconciliations, monthly valuation preparation, cost monitoring and analysis, and preparation of final accounts
- Visiting sites to carry out interim and final measurements in accordance with contract terms and internal procedures.
- Preparation of detailed on-time monthly valuations for presenting to clients and contractors based on site measurements and work in progress assessments on site
- Identification, preparation and valuation of variations, compensation events, additional works and the like
- Meeting with clients, contractors and customers to build and maintain good working relationships, with agreement on measures and valuations on a monthly basis
- Assist with management of cashflow and payments within the business
- Management of subcontract accounts including valuations and payment.
You will be qualified to preferably degree or HND/HNC level and ideally have experience in civil engineering projects and operations. You will be logically minded and possess excellent organisational skills and be confident dealing directly with internal and external customers on both a formal and informal level. You will also have excellent numerical skills and the ability to work under pressure with a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
You will monitor progress and project delivery, with the ability to anticipate problems and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level for resolution and opportunities.
