Quantity Surveyor Job in New Milton
Do you want to work for a reputable design and build practice working on exciting commercial fit-out projects in the South-East? Our Workplace D&B Client now requires a Quantity Surveyor to join their team of 35 based in New Milton, both Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor level will be considered.
The family-run company was established in 2008 and has a long-standing and repeat client base, working on projects ranging from £200k - £4m. They provide an all-encompassing service to their clients as both main contractors, designers and project managers. Due to increasing projects they now need a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Understanding the client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies
- Analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time
- Negotiate contracts and work schedules
- Allocate work to subcontractors and oversee their work at all stages of the construction
- Perform risk, value management and cost control during construction
- Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
- Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
- Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
- Value completed work, oversee bills and arrange payments
- Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
- Ensure robust and timely cost and value reporting to ensure accurate cashflow reporting

- Cost management including forecasting
- Reconciliation of CVR's
Required Skills & Experience
- 1+ Years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Manager
- Experience of cost planning with a skill set to value engineer a design
- Ability to work on projects from pre-contract through to final sign off of accounts
- Ideally experience within commercial design and build fit-out, but other sectors will be considered
- Good knowledge of M&E
- A good knowledge of JCT contracts & current building regulations
- A clear understanding of HSE Building Regulations and legal guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- UK Driving Licence and own Vehicle
