Location: Flexible working available, where you will be based out of our Walsall office with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites in Walsall

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time

Kier Places are recruiting now for a Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in upholding and maintaining the commercial wellbeing of our Walsall Housing Group contract, which delivers essential housing repairs and maintenance, void services, planned works, compliance work, project work, and fire safety to our clients, and to reduce cost, increase value, drive revenue/profits and mitigate against risk in a safe and ethical manner.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, we will look to you to develop and manage all commercial aspects of projects including budgets and forecasts to ensure the governance and profitability of allocated contracts; develop, manage and extend commercial relationships with both new and existing clients and supply chain; maximise profitability of all allocated contracts and work packages; and provide accurate commercial reporting to allow effective management of your projects.

This includes projects for maintaining fire safety systems (i.e. fire doors, fire stopping & sprinkler systems), kitchen & bathroom replacements, and refurbishment of occupied properties.

What do we need from you?

As a commercially focused, self-motivated Quantity Surveyor, you'll have strong experience with Housing Maintenance contracts relating to Decent Homes and Social Housing - Fire Risk/Safety/FRA works exposure would be desirable; good demonstrable SOR & VCR/CVR knowledge; and relevant academic qualifications & Chartered membership.

Joining this fast paced, growing & expanding department, we need you to be a team player, to promote, follow and influence good project governance through the implementation of Kier policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of this role, you should have a full driving licence, and be comfortable travelling across the area to sites & offices.
