Quantity Surveyor Job in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire

Quantity Surveyor job in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire for a reputable and growing housebuilder, joining their largest Western region. Our client is looking for either an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team of 12, offering a salary range of £25,000 - £50,000 + Car Allowance / Company Car + 25 days holiday.

Our client has been established for 50 years, with 10 offices across the Midlands, East Anglia, South West and North West. They are a family-run regional developer that strives to deliver quality housing which is sympathetic to the individual area and community. They are number 1 for NHBC customer satisfaction at 8 and 9-week survey stages and currently delivering 4000 units per year across all regions. Their Western region is currently delivering 650 units per annum, you will be managing no more than 2 sites at one time, covering the Cotswolds region.

Role & Responsibilities

- Responsibilities may differ dependent on level

- Prepare contract/supplier enquiry lists, enquiry tender packs and tender comparison sheets

- Review returned tenders

- Prepare detailed breakdowns of build costs including infrastructure costings

- Drawing take-offs and production of labour only rates in liaison with the Senior Surveyor, Commercial Manager and Construction Department

- Monthly contractor applications for payment and interim payments

- Issuing variations and contra charges

- Pricing of non-standard client extras

- Update Cost of Sales in Viability Manager for client extras, after re-budgets and valuations.

- Carry out monthly progress checklists for all sites

- Carry out monthly valuation, CVRs and CTCs

- Liaise/Attend site meetings with the Housing Association on invoicing and Health and Safety

- Liaise with the Design & Technical Department over specification for Code for Sustainable Homes and produce schedules

- Regular site visits (minimum of twice a month) to assist and support site staff and meet with sub-contractors

- Assist in the production of the Group Rebate Form.

Required Skills & Experience

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar

- Previous experience working for a housebuilder

- Pre-contract to final accounts

- Ability to manage several tasks at one time and work to deadlines

- Own vehicle and UK Driving Licence.
