Quantity Surveyor Job in Fareham
Quantity Surveyor job in Fareham for a regional and reputable housebuilder. Offering a competitive remuneration package of £45,000 - £60,000 (Flex) + £3-4k Car Allowance + Bonus, and further progression opportunities as they continue to grow.
Founded over 20 years ago, they are an independently owned housebuilder renowned for producing quality and affordable housing in the Hampshire area. Currently delivering 150 units per annum and they aim to double this in the next few years.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyse supplier costs, risk management and value management
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Manage the purchasing, payment terms, rebates, and negotiation of supplied subcontract labour
- Prepare budgets and monthly cost reports for review
- Liaise with the construction team to ensure that building subcontract resources are available in line with the agreed construction programme
- Arrange and manage pre-contract meetings with selected sub-contractors
- Prepare and administer Tender and Contract Documentation for sub-contracts
- Carefully assess variation costs throughout the cycle of each development
- Ensure that functional managers/directors are fully informed of shortage of supply or change in sub-contractors to ensure effective budgeting and programme management
- Assist and advise the Commercial Manager on Procurement strategy
- Be aware of and follow relevant safe working practices on and off site, attending Health and Safety training as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years as a Quantity Surveyor from a Housebuilder or residential main contracting background
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Experience in pre-contract to final accounts
- Understanding of the construction environment and building regulations
- Ability to problem solve and resolve complex issues effectively.

- Office hours are 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.
