Kier Construction are looking for a?Quantity Surveyor?to join our commercial team in the North West business unit based in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities?
We are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team responsible for delivering key new build projects from £10M - £65M across the region. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the Senior Commercial team with involvment in a range of interesting new build and refurbishment projects across Higher Education, Commercial, Leisure, Education, Aviation, Heritage and Healthcare sectors.
The Q.S will typically get to take commercial ownership of a specific project with the support of an experienced Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor but will also as part of their development get the opportunity to work with the wider commercial team supporting from tender stage through to final account.???
Having experience gained within the main contracting environment will be invaluable in this role, a sound understanding of NEC and JCT contract conditions and confidence in your ability to contribute to the commercial success of key projects through relevant experience will stand you in good stead. Duties will vary from day to day but will include:?
- Subcontract procurement - Negotiating with supply chain??
- Subcontract package management?
- Contract administration both with the employers Project Manager, and with Kier's supply chain?
- Support SQS / MQS? in producing value cost reconciliation reports?
- Agreeing applications for payment and processing payments?
- Producing and maintaining risk registers?
- Raising and responding to Early Warning Notices & Compensation Events and closing these out through agreement?
- Agreement of final accounts??
You will be degree qualified within a relevant discipline and be able to evidence your commercial and contractual understanding. The ideal candidate will have experience of working on schemes as a main / management contractors quantity surveyor.?
