Quantity Surveyor - Tired of the Same Old QS Job?
Location: London (2-3 days in office)
Salary: £45K-£65K + bonus + proper flexibility
Type: Permanent | Consultancy Side
You're a Quantity Surveyor. You know the job. Cost plans, contracts, reports, clients. You've probably seen a dozen roles offering "great projects" and "career development." But this one's different - here's why:
I'm recruiting for a medium-sized consultancy that punches above its weight. No corporate fluff. No layers of red tape. Just sharp, ambitious people delivering high-quality work across commercial, residential and mixed-use. They're growing, but not hiring just anyone. They want someone who's hands-on, switched-on, and ready to take ownership.
What You'll Actually Be Doing:
- Handling pre- and post-contract duties (nothing gets handed off)
- Working on £1m-£50m plus projects - not cookie-cutter stuff
- Leading on cost plans, tender docs, and client reporting
- Taking the reins on smaller jobs, and stepping up on bigger ones
- Dealing directly with clients - not buried in spreadsheets all day
- Moving toward MRICS? They'll support you, properly.
What You Bring:
- Experience in a consultancy or client-side QS role
- Know your way around JCT contracts
- Can speak with clients like a pro and present with confidence
- You take ownership - you don't need chasing
- MRICS or on the way there? Perfect.
What You'll Get:
- £45K-£65K salary + bonus + pension
- Hybrid working (London office, 2-3 days per week)
- No micro-managing. Just results.
- Projects that aren't cookie-cutter - and clients who respect you
- Full APC support from a team with a strong pass rate
- Clear route to Senior QS if you want it - and mentoring if you don't
No CV ready? No problem. Just drop me a message or call me. Let's have a confidential chat - no pressure, no obligation.
