Role Overview
Provide professional commercial support across a range of projects, ensuring effective contract administration, budget control, and client engagement to meet or exceed project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Administer projects in line with company policies and procedures.
Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure commercial alignment.
Manage risks, monitor budgets, and maintain performance and quality standards.
Procure subcontractors competitively and negotiate best value.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Communicate contract scope and obligations clearly to project teams.
Develop and manage procurement strategies aligned with programme needs.
Submit timely payment applications and manage retention recovery.
Maximise value through proactive variation pricing and opportunity recognition.
Support cost forecasting and project reporting in conjunction with site teams.
Mentor and support junior commercial staff.
Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of NEC, ICE, JCT contracts.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering.
Understanding of tendering, procurement, and commercial reporting.
CVR knowledge and dispute resolution experience (desirable).
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Technology
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Familiarity with cost management and collaboration systems.
Qualifications
HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (preferred).
RICS membership (desirable).
Full UK driving licence.
