Antony James Recruitment is recruiting for a quantity surveyor in the Essex area.

Salary of £55,000-£60,000

Working for a boutique firm in the Essex area, the company specialises in contracts with the education and health care sectors.

You must have experience working on commercial projects and a great track record working for a main contractor.

Principal duties include

Creating cost estimates for building projects
Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
Prepare and submit tenders.
Keep track of project costs and financial progress.
Account management and administration for subcontractors.
As needed, prepare and distribute variation cost predictions.
Identify areas for margin improvement.
Visit the site on a regular basis to monitor progress, verify quantities, and generate monthly appraisals for the client.
Attend client and architect meetings as needed.
Assist other commercial team members.

Skills:

The ability to control your own workload on projects
Excellent time management abilities, as well as the capacity to operate under pressure.
Expertise with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication abilities.
Extensive attention to detail.
Understanding and knowledge of the building and construction industries.
