Quantity Surveyor Job in Suffolk

Quantity Surveyor job based in Suffolk for the largest privately-owned regional housebuilder in East Anglia, with circa 70 industry awards, including a 5-star HBF award, they produce quality family homes across Suffolk and Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. The role offers a salary of up to £45k + £6k Car allowance or Company car and private medical.

Established in 1985 and, they provide homes that are both sympathetically considered and beautifully built, which has led to respect and trust from Local Authorities and communities across their region, as well as multiple awards. Reporting to the Head of Surveying, you will be responsible for the commercial management of developments across East Anglia from tender to final accounts. Ideally, they are looking for a competent Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to take a step up or an existing Quantity Surveyor, new build residential construction experience is essential.

Role & Responsibilities

- Collating tender documentation

- Carrying out the full tendering process

- Managing numerous sites simultaneously

- Subcontractor appraisal and assessment

- Contract award and contract management

- Providing cost estimates

- Cost planning/forecasting

- Budget management and cost reporting

- Valuations and processing payments

- Variation control and management

- Attending site visits and project team meetings.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years' experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor

- Experience in the new build residential sector

- Ideally qualified to Degree level in Quantity Surveying or similar HNC / HND

- Knowledge of COINS is preferred but not essential

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

- UK Driving Licence.
