We are a small property development company looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Construction Project Manager.

You will be responsible for managing costs of all the company's building and refurbishment projects.

- Obtaining initial estimates

- Acquiring materials for build

- Agreeing delivery dates with the builders

- Providing clients with value for money whilst adhering to the strict regulations of the construction industry which govern every aspect of the construction industry.

This will include:

- Meetings with the team in the office, on the construction site and other subcontractors

- Preparation of contracts, including details regarding quantities of required  materials

- On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work

- Feasibility studies of client requests

- Analysing completed work and arranging payment to contractors

- Allocating upcoming work to contractors

- Site surveys and reporting

- Site visits, assessments and projections for future work

Educational requirements

You must hold an appropriate qualification, either a relevant university degree or a professional accreditation from the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors. 

Skills required

You will also be expected to be excellent communicators and possess numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role.

You should demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and an ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment.

Obviously, a passion for the construction trade and knowledge of the wider industry are also important.
