Quarry Operative

Permanent - full time

Breedon are currently seeking a multi-skilled Quarry Operative to join our friendly team at our Wenvoe Quarry based near Cardiff.

As a Quarry Operative you will be responsible for the operation of mobile and fixed plant as well as supporting with general plant maintenance. You will be friendly and a good communicator, with a willingness to learn. You will also be self-motivated and have the ability to work on your own or as part of a team, with skills and flexibility to cover for the team as needed.

The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Hold a current national driving licence
  • Hold valid MPQC or similar endorsements to operate rigid dumper trucks and front end loaders
  • Hold valid MPQC or similar endorsements to operate other heavy mobile plant, particularly 360° excavators; however training may be given to a suitable candidate
  • Applicable and recent experience of operating crushing and screening plant and undertaking basic maintenance tasks
