Breedon are currently seeking a Quarry Team Leader based at Dowlow Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire.

In the role, you will be responsible for supporting the Quarry Manager with the safe and efficient management and operation of the Quarry.

You will support managing production and extraction activities, troubleshooting technical problems and overseeing planning and coordination with other departments. Awareness of the time critical nature of the process and downstream activities.

Responsibilities/Key Tasks:

  • Safety will comprise a key element of the role, you might also be required to conduct risk assessments and health and safety inspections and to demonstrate leadership in safety.
  • An important element of the role will involve administrative duties, from writing reports and updating records to procurement and budget control.
  • An ability to plan and organise work in a time efficient fashion is critical.
  • The ideal candidate will have background in the extractive industry, be familiar with the extractive process with a strong focus on safety and interpersonal skills.

  • Problem Analysis - Ability in pro-actively identifying problems, seeking pertinent data, recognising important information, and identifying possible causes of problems
  • Compliance - Adherence to company policy and/or procedures. Seeks approval from the correct authority for changes.
