We are Kier, one of the UK's leading Construction and Infrastructure services, working on projects such as Hinkley Point C and Mogden Sewage Treatment Works. We are currently recruiting for a Rail Estimator to join our Kier Infrastructure team to drive the pricing of works across the Rail sector to support our ongoing client relationship with Network Rail.
Key Responsibilities
In this exciting Rail Estimator role, you'll compile top-down budgets and estimate from first principles varying from outputs, labour, plant, materials and subcontractor elements. You'll organise and manage 'risk and opportunity' schedules and engage in sub-contractor quotations. You'll also organise and lead tender handover meetings, contribute to pre-tender/negotiation meetings, produce tender settlement packs and present tender prices in accordance with Network Rail Cost Analysis Forms (CAF).
What do we need from you?
A strong communicator and self-starter with demonstrable estimating knowledge of Rail across multiple disciplines. You'll have experience of estimating, preferably E & P with a proven track record of converting estimating opportunities delivered within budget. You'll possess strong analytical and technical skills with good excel skills in developing estimating expertise. You'll also have a good ability to build good working relationships with the client, supply chain and internal staff. We're also looking for someone who can meet challenging deadlines and able to manage their time effectively.
