Receptionist Job in Kennington, London

Seeking a Receptionist to work in fast-paced architectural practice based in Kennington, London!

As 'Receptionist' your duties will incorporate assisting the accounts team, manning the reception, and offering general secretarial support to this studio of 90 staff. This is the perfect opportunity for someone that enjoys being within an inventive working environment and who will relish the responsibility they are given.

Role & Responsibilities

  • To greet visitors politely and efficiently; prepare refreshments for meetings
  • To monitor conference rooms; to ensure the reception area and conference rooms are tidy
  • To deal with deliveries; to distribute incoming post; to frank outgoing post; to book couriers, cabs, reprographics, visitor's car parking
  • To operate the telephone switchboard politely and efficiently, forwarding calls and taking messages where appropriate
  • To assist the accountant in maintaining up to date records within the accounts department and the preparation of project invoices
  • Typing of sales invoices and other general accounts correspondence
  • To monitor and order all stationery and supplies and ensuring the area is kept neat and tidy
  • Ensuring the studio is neat and tidy, and looking it's best at all times
  • Assist secretaries with overflow work, particularly in absence of one of the secretaries
  • Assist project teams with administration work as required
  • Ensure all project emails are filed correctly and promptly using an in-house filing system
  • To order and set up in-house lunches as required
  • Assist with in-house and external functions
  • Report to the PA of the Directors and Accountants.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years UK experience working in a similar position
  • Familiar with basic accounting and bookkeeping
  • Fluent use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook
  • Capable of multitasking when the studio is busy
  • Confident greeting visitors and clients that enter the studio
  • Have a fantastic and well-executed phone manner, with a professional approach to taking and connecting important calls
  • Be adaptable. You may be asked to help team members with ad-hoc administrative duties
  • Thrive in a creative environment
  • Demonstrate your efficiency. (My client's industry can sometimes be fast-paced, and their work is often time-bound, so proving yourself as organised and alert will hugely benefit them)
  • Have genuine enthusiasm for your position and the industry you are working in
  • Be a naturally sociable character
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK for this position.

What you get back

  • Salary of £20,000 - £30,000
  • 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
