Founded in 1931, they are the UK's market leader in the provision of parking services, supplying over 200,000 spaces across more than 700 locations nationwide, frequently in partnership with some of the country's leading public and private sector organisations, including City Councils, local authorities and air and rail travel operators.
They now have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Building Services Engineer (South) to join their existing team. The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the management and delivery of:
- Construction related capital and revenue works across the NCP estate.
- Procurement strategy for all aspects of repair and maintenance works.
- Ensure the entire property portfolio complies with all aspects of legislation relating to its operational safety.
- Manage all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance.
- Provide clear direction to the board and the department around the delivery of maintenance across the estate.
- Management and financial accountability of an outsourced Facilities Help Desk covering the NCP estate.
- Deliver all works projects and PPM within budget, on time and to the prescribed standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the Head of Technical Services on a regular basis to appraise of all developments and highlight any risks / opportunities which may exist.
- Generating monthly reports to inform the wider business of all aspects of PPM and Reactive Maintenance progress and expenditure against agreed budgets and KPI's
- Providing M&E technical support to building surveying colleagues and operational colleagues at all levels of the business.
- Managing, supporting, developing and maintaining cost control over the outsourced Facilities Help Desk to ensure that what is delivered is best suited to the business.
- Providing an engineering input into new business ventures where there is a requirement.
- Regularly review estimates for reactive and planned works and be able to demonstrate that the company is achieving best value at all times.
- Reviewing energy saving initiatives and prepare business cases
- Conducting regular meetings with the outsourced Facilities Help Desk provider to ensure that budgets are being maintained in line with expectation.
- Carrying out site visits on a regular basis and liaising with third parties, Landlords and Tenants on any engineering related issues that require a resolution.
- Ensuring optimal management of the estate, focused on minimising property costs through effective delivery of maintenance works.
- Ensuring growth of the estate by assisting the new business team with technical input to win business ventures.
- Regularly reviewing and measuring the Help Desk supply chain performance to ensure continued best practice and KPI's are being maintained.
- Regularly reviewing energy saving products and make representation for field-based trials to measure success and suitability.
- Regularly review the Help Desk supply chain and bench mark with other providers to ensure that best value is being achieved at all times.
- Responsible for the overall management and direction of consultants, contractors and our external helpdesk.
KEY SKILLS /EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree educated or equivalent experience in an Electrical & Mechanical engineering discipline.
- Corporate membership of a professional institution (CIBSE or equivalent).
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A good technical understanding of the Electrical Regulations, HASAWA 1974, CDM, water by-laws and all other related standards and requirements one would expect to encounter in fulfilling this role.
- Ability to maintain and develop engineering performance specifications for minor and major projects
- Provide a consistent approach in ensuring that project delivery is achieved within budget and time constraints.
- Significant experience in a similar environment managing a multi sited portfolio with various technical installations.
- Experience of readily identifying cost savings and improvements that can be achieved and having the confidence to prepare business cases to support the initiative.
- Have an awareness of tendering reactive and capital replacement works and being able to contribute significantly towards the process.
- Excellent understanding of the technical, commercial and legal issues affecting estates matters.
- Knowledge and experience of project management.
