The opportunity: Kier Construction is looking to recruit a Regional Business Development Manager to work with the services business development teams and relevant bid teams. The successful candidate will work on the development of quality bid submissions, including stakeholder analysis and obtaining relevant information to assess client focus and pertinent issues to be addressed in submissions.

Business Development Responsibilities:
  • To understand the Kier Group of companies and it's integrated team capability
  • To represent the Company and ensure Kier Construction are prominent to the decision makers throughout the construction industry.
  • Assist with the development of the Strategic Business Plan in line with business needs, update on an annual basis.
  • In conjunction with Directors identify and report on potential new areas of operations that align with the Strategic Business Plan.
  • Liaise closely with key stakeholders, including land agents, council representatives, land owners and other developers.
  • Produce viability reports summarizing the key characteristics of land acquisition or disposal proposals.
  • Communicate regularly and clearly and work closely with the Technical and Commercial departments, providing concise and accurate information.
  • Update the relevant Business Development databases (CRM etc.) to ensure they are kept up to date with opportunity and contact information.
  • Prepare consolidated monthly Business Development and Marketing reports for inclusion in the Board Report.
  • Liaise with the Pre-Construction department to ensure they are aware of details of opportunities coming into the business for tender.
  • Liaise with the Pre-Construction department and the Directors to ensure a balanced workflow through the department.
  • Assist in the management of "declining opportunities" to maintain positive relationships with our clients/design teams.

  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Proven experience in business development activities
  • Natural gravitas to engage with and influence senior executives both internally and externally
  • Performance driven - energy, drive and determination
  • Personal and professional demeanor and credibility, which commands confidence of external partners, key stakeholders, members, clients, senior managers and employees
  • Strong communication skills in all forms
