Reporting to the area Reinstatement Controller you will be responsible for the permanent reinstatement of excavations in highways, footways and other hard paved areas in the Hampshire/Berkshire region. As a Reinstatement Operative, you will work as part of a two-person team carrying out a variety of reinstatements to local authority standards. You will work on carriageways, footways and other hard paved areas using asphalts, modular paving and concrete.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be excavating in the highways and complying with NRSWA Code of Practice 1991 and HSG47 and working in compliance with Specification for Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH).

You will manage your daily work through the company issue mobile device, ensuring the process is followed through to completion of the job task, before leaving the tasks location and complete and submit all necessary documents including Compliance documentation is adhered to; i.e. Safety & Quality - (Self-Audit & POWRA).

You will also ensure excellent working relations are established and maintained with key interfacing areas and support functions and maintain all company issue Uniform/PPE, Vehicle and Equipment ensuring all remain in good condition, so to ensure efficient working practices are adhered to, while promoting the Company Brand. You will work to daily and monthly targets, and ensure works are completed to a high standard at all times, so to ensure works do not generate customer complaints, ensuring you maintain a quality customer service. You will also carry out any other reasonable activities, tasks or duties as may be required to meet the ongoing or changing needs of the business.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in this role you will have previous BT or VM network build experience, hold valid NRSWA Street works Operative units 1 to 9 and a full UK driving licence including 7.5t GVW for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on your licence. It is essential that you have previous experience driving a 7.5 tonne gross tipper/hotbox vehicle. You will have strong customer service and communication skills and will be able to work from your own initiative. You will be competent and experienced using Civils equipment such as disc cutters and floor saws and you will have experience with Risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.

It would also be great if you hold a current CSCS or EUSR card and are BT accredited/ NOPS (Network Operative Passport Scheme).
